Background 

This year's topic of our symposium will be "Tackle the crisis with a new world economic ethics?" The current economic and social crisis serves as a background for this topic. At the symposium, a new declaration on a "Global Business Ethos" will be presented for the first time in Europe. It has been drafted by a group of economists, business representatives and ethicists. Speakers will debate about the declaration and alternative ways out of the crisis. Not only the economic crisis, but also the social dimension, in particular extreme poverty, will prominently figure in the day's discourse. The symposium wants to grasp the current crisis as an opportunity and offer concrete solutions that will benefit people on all continents.
